SSD e nuovo File System APFS
Buongiorno cari lettori, oggi parleremo dei SSD e nuovo File System APFS che è approdato con Mac OS High Sierra.
Il nostro Team vuole spiegarvi come questo nuovo File System APFS a volte crei alcuni problemi su alcuni Mac, specialmente i Mac che utilizzano Fusion Drive.
Il nuovo file system APFS, introdotto da Apple con High Sierra, veniva utilizzato anche sulle unità Fusion nella prima versione beta del sistema operativo, rilasciata lo scorso giugno in occasione del WWDC 2017. Proseguendo con lo sviluppo fino alla versione pubblica finale, Apple ha poi deciso di limitare il nuovo file system agli SSD sia perché è ottimizzato proprio per questi ultimi sia per non meglio specificati problemi di compatibilità con altri tipi di unità di archiviazione. In realtà poi Craig Federighi, vice presidente senior del reparto software di Apple, in una email di risposta a un lettore del sito MacRumors.com ha dichiarato che il supporto di APFS per le unità Fusion arriverà con un prossimo aggiornamento di High Sierra. Nel momento in cui scriviamo, però, High Sierra è arrivato alla versione 10.13.2 e dell’annunciato supporto non c’è ancora segno. Ciò non toglie che, con le maniere “forti”, si riesca a far funzionare High Sierra su Fusion in APFS: bisogna riavviare il Mac in modalità di ripristino, avviare Utility Disco, disattivare il volume dell’unità Fusion e poi scegliere l’opzione di conversione dal menu contestuale.
È però una pratica rischiosa per alcuni problemi di compatibilità con le funzioni di sospensione e chissà quali altri inconvenienti: meglio aspettare il supporto ufficiale da parte di Apple che introdurrà delle modifiche in maniera tale da permettere il perfetto funzionamento del File System APFS con i Mac dotati di Fusion Drive.
